Westways 2023 1st Place Winner

This photo was taken at Lake McDonald, Glacier National Park Montana. I cannot express how much this photo contest has impacted my life. 2023 was not my best year. However, the most surprising highlight was winning this contest. I bought my first real camera during COVID. Then I discovered Astrophotography- lots of fun, lots of technical stuff. It transformed camping trips into photography trips. On a whim, my very supportive, can’t live without her, lifetime cheerleader of a wife told me to enter the contest. I didn’t think my images were good enough… But as always, she was right. I encourage all of you to go out and take a chance- what can you lose?!
