astrophotography
astrophotography is where it all started for me. although i am not even that interested in space stuff in general, it just blew my mind that for a small investment in some telescopes, astrophotography mounts, software, and a ton of wasted time and frozen fingers- one can image things that only a hundred years ago were still complete mysteries. later, that small investment turned into a general interest in photography. now, i am a published photographer that still cant figure out pixinsight (shout out to my astro nerds).

March 18, 2024- you can see the first stage (bottom right). i was also able to capture both halves of the fairings (two dots following rocket- right side of frame). pretty cool

stage 1 burn from a space x starlink satellite launch out of vandenburg ca. photo taken from the san fernando valley. we live in a crazy time

closeup of first stage

first stage return to offshore landing pad "of course I still love you" off of long beach ca. not a great image but so cool to see in person

this is probably my favorite deep sky object i've taken. capturing the image from trona pinnacles while camping with my dad. having beers over a campfire wasn't bad either.

western veil nebula NGC 6960. imaged from holcomb valley, big bear california. there were beers with dad by the campfire on this one as well.

perseids meteor shower of 2023 taken at mt pinos. this was my first meteor radiant composite shot attempt. pretty happy for my first try- more to come

geminids dec 2023. trona pinnacles with my dad. what a great spot. captured close to 80 meteors that night.
